Your Green Tour

The adventure begins at Quinta das Lavandas, in Castelo de Vide, where we will have the opportunity to visit the lavender fields, the distillery and the Lavandas Garden where over 40 varieties of the species are grown. After dinner in a typical restaurant in the Alentejo, we will visit the historical centre of Castelo de Vide, touring its white houses, the 18th century manor houses, the Gothic portals and the Judiaria.

Early in the morning, after a good breakfast at Quinta das Lavandas, we start a 10 km walk to Marvão, a medieval village protected by strong walls, where we can see the back of the birds flying. After a free lunch and a short walk through the alleys of this picturesque village we head to Elvas, to rest at the Rural Hotel Monte da Provença. You can then choose to visit the historic centre of Elvas and its star-shaped walls, or stay at the hotel and enjoy a wine tasting of the region. Dinner will be at the hotel’s restaurant, and there may even be a musical surprise for diners.

We leave for Vila Viçosa, also known as Princess of the Alentejo, where we will visit its Palace, once the holiday home of the Monarchy. Astonishing with its 110 meters long façade totally covered with marble of the region. We will have lunch at Herdade do Esporão and in the afternoon we will travel to its vineyards where we will have contact with the new techniques of sustainable plantation and the biological vineyards, also observing the different species of fauna and flora of the region. We finish the visit in the cellars and cellars with a classic wine tasting. The day is already long and full, so it’s time to go to the Hotel Rural Horta da Moura, enjoying all its comfort. Dinner will be served at the hotel’s restaurant.

We visit the beautiful Medieval Village of Monsaraz where we venture into the narrow streets of the village and dazzle ourselves with the landscape of the Great Lake Alqueva. After lunch in the village, it is time to visit one of the traditional potteries of São Pedro do Corval, or opt for a walking tour of the region. We return to the hotel to prepare ourselves for dinner at the restaurant “Sem Fim” and then watch the sky at the Alqueva Dark Sky reservation.

We are heading to Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage city, where there is time for a brief cultural visit to its historic centre. After the free lunch, we will take a bike tour to the Cromeleque dos Almendres, a prehistoric stone circle composed of 95 stone monoliths. The rest will take place in one of the eco hotels of the city. If you still feel like it, take a night visit to the temple of Diana. Simply unique.

We left Évora for Montemor-o-Novo, where we were surprised every time we passed there. Montemor displays in every nook and cranny the ancestral strength of the nobility and religious orders, through its beautiful manor houses and the existing convents and churches. We visit its historical centre and say goodbye to the Alentejo with a memorable lunch. Our services end upon arrival in Lisbon.
